On this first day of 2015, our thoughts turn to all our wonderful customers.  2014 was our first full year operating as the new John Bead Outlet.

We appreciate all your support, comments and patronage.

It is with much appreciation we say Thank You and best wishes.

We wish you a happy and successful New Year.

Sincerely

The John Bead Outlet Team

This past weekend The Outlet packed up a mini jewelers studio and moved into a booth at the Creativ Festival in Toronto.

Laura and Rachelle brought the most amazing selection of beads for the free Make and Take!

With a little bit of demo time, Rachelle managed to whip up this gorgeous bracelet!

The event allowed us to showcase the Outlet to people who may not have known we were reopened and bigger than ever.

Kids just love to bead!

And so do women!

It is safe to say that a great time was had!

When you visit the Outlet, I hope one of the first things you notice is this chain at the front door.

It looks so bright and cheerful that you may think it is just to add some colour to the cash register zone.

However, if you follow the chain you will see that it goes all the way down the whole side of the Outlet!  There is no way to capture it in one photo!

Throughout the length of chain you will see the most beautiful attachments!

Some charms are simple.

And some charms are quite heavy.

The children (and children at heart) who helped to make this were all wonderful.  I hope you enjoy seeing Canada’s longest charm bracelet when you visit The Outlet.

Our new Bead and Craft Outlet is open to everyone!  There are no minimums and you do not need a business license to shop in the Outlet.

Our Outlet is attached to our large wholesale-only warehouse facility.  When we have items that are no longer in our wholesale catalogue, are end of lines, vintage or clearance priced they end up in the Outlet.  This allows us to reinvest in new products.

Expect to save 50% and more on what you might spend at a regular retail store.  Therefore, we are in fact, always on sale! If you are 60+ every Sunday is Seniors Day with extra 5% discount on all purchases.

With over 6,000 feet of space, our new Outlet is great for craft and beading bargain hunters, and has virtually anything needed by jewelry makers, teachers, rosary makers, designers, costumes or for anyone working with children.

We are well known for our dedication to providing unique and beautiful rosary making supplies. The native beading and dream catcher supplies have expanded. Costume-making supplies, appliqués and feathers are now merchandised in a major aisle. Bridal is bigger and the choices are plentiful.  We even have some items fishermen need!  The choices for glass, semi precious and one of kind beads are beyond compare.

We are constantly adding to our shelves and new items are added weekly.  There are thousands of items to choose from but keep in mind they change or sell out, so you may not find them on a second visit.

Over the years we have even purchased the inventory of other wholesalers who have closed and added these special and often vintage items to the Outlet shelves.

Currently we have a stunning collection of hand made jewelry being sold in the Outlet.  We purchased the contents of a European jewelry company (over 100,000 pieces), which closed overseas and brought these items to Canada.   We are making these one of a kind pieces available to you exclusively in the Outlet.  The jewelry is lead free, nickel free, and hand crafted. You will recognize some of the stunning crystals from major manufacturers, which have been incorporated into the design work.  As always, when these are sold, they will never be restocked.

If you have never been to the Outlet set-aside some time and visit soon.  If you have not visited recently allow me to say, you have no idea what you have been missing! The Outlet is even more convenient to visit because we are open Tuesday through Sunday!  We are only closed on Mondays and Public holidays.

In closing let me you remind you to fill out your free membership card when you visit, as it will entitle you to an additional 10% off.  Also, visit and like our Facebook page for special events and surprise sales!

We have been gathering and packing all sorts of fun and colourful supplies to take to the Taste of Lawrence!  Our special booth will be set up so kids (and kids of all ages) can add anything that strikes their fancy to our 100 meters of chain which is destined to become Canada’s longest Charm Bracelet.

I made the first two feet of chain in order to have photos to show you what we were making.

Then I made another foot or two thinking it might be nice to have a sample for everyone to see when they arrive.

Then I fell in love with pom poms.

I can’t stop adding bling to this chain!  Do come visit me and add a foot or two to the chain too…..otherwise before you know it I will have filled the 100 meters by myself!

You’ll find our booth is the Dulux parking lot!

As part of our weekend of Grand Opening festivities Michael Thompson – City Councillor will be at The Outlet Saturday at Noon.

Michael Thompson is Chair of Toronto’s Economic Development and Culture Committee, Vice-Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board and the City Councillor representing Ward 37, Scarborough Centre.

Now in his third term as City Councillor, Michael Thompson has earned a reputation as one of Toronto’s hardest working political leaders.

Michael’s commitment to economic development is longstanding. In his first term in office, he spearheaded the creation of the Wexford Heights Business Improvement Area and established a Job Fair that annually brings thousands of job seekers together with dozens of employers. He maintains a widespread network of business relationships that has helped to enhance business retention, promote growth and increase private sector employment. His active engagement with business has helped speed the launch of new business ventures, resolved business/residential conflicts and gained business participation in a wide range of community-building initiatives. In 2010, thanks to his persistent salesmanship, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the world’s largest student run professional association, held its annual conference in Toronto, bringing more than 10,000 young engineers (and millions of dollars) to the city.

A believer in the critical value of culture as a builder of strong communities, Michael co-founded the Taste of Lawrence Avenue East Festival, which brings together tens of thousands of people each year to experience local performing arts and cuisine. He also created the “Scarborough Rocks” community image building campaign, which emphasizes Scarborough’s unique cultural blend.

July 5-7 are the days you will want to visit The John Bead Outlet and our neighbors!

In our Outlet we are featuring special Grand Opening Pricing.

We are also participating just up the road in the Taste of Lawrence.

The John Bead Outlet is sponsoring a creative and interactive booth in the children’s area at this year’s Taste of Lawrence weekend where we will be attempting to create Canada’s longest charm bracelet!

We have 100+ meters of chain we need to fill with charms, sequins, beads, buttons, pom poms and other fun embellishments.  We’ll be using string, ribbon and jump rings to attach everything to the chain.  No skills required!  You’ll see how easy it is to make something fun and wearable using some of the craft and jewelry making supplies found in the Outlet.

Hope to see you at one or both events this weekend!
