Left unadorned, they are country casual.  In the hands of a crafter though, they are a wonderful blank canvas.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you plan on pouring resin onto your slice, you need to start your projects by applying several layers of a clear drying glue to the surface to seal the wood. <em> I usually do this a full day before I begin working on their surface.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2-500x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3345\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2-500x500.jpg 500w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2-400x400.jpg 400w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/2.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the wood is sealed, I then apply dried flowers, glitter, foil accents and more to the surface.  I use markers to add some extra lines (see gold lines in finished slices) Everything is then carefully coated with several new layers of a clear drying glue and left to dry overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/4-500x500.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/4-500x500.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/4-400x400.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/4-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/4-768x768.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/blog.johnbeadoutlet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/4.jpeg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When everything is dry I make a small batch of a two-part epoxy resin and paint it on the surface of my wood slice.
