She is a bilingual student, an international dancer (hoop, fancy, jingle, traditional) and an artist who\u00a0wanted to make herself a new jingle dress.\u00a0 She and her Mom; Natalie Foidart, called their local supplier to get jingles and he explained that he had retired. There was no one in the area who made them, so \u00c9milie decided that she wanted to make them locally herself.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n\u00c9milie drew up a logo and a five year plan so that she could be the new Canadian manufacturer, supplier and designer of jingles and worked closely with her mom, Natalie Foidart to get her business started.\u00a0After researching various meanings to words and careful consideration, she chose Anishinaabe (it\u2019s who she is, a Native Canadian, First Nation Person) Bimishimo (dancing by) Corporation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/commerce.johnbead.com\/estore2\/frmItemSearch.aspx?searchTerm=Anishinaabe%20Bimishimo%20Pattern\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.johnbead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/slideshow1-2-600x413.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"413\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\nJohn Bead is honored to have been one of the companies that \u00c9milie\u00a0McKinney (along with her mom, Natalie Foidart) met with during their\u00a0initial research and we are excited to be the first distributor to\u00a0support their new business.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cI\u2019m really thankful for Daniel John to have\u00a0personally taken time to answer our many questions on numerous\u00a0occasions\u00a0and for his guidance as well. The tipi symbolizes home, family, where the heart is and the open tipi door welcomes ideas, hope, dreams, dance and people. The medicine wheel is a reminder to follow and never forget the sacred teachings including being humble, asking for help when needed and to show appreciation when it is given. Anishinaabe Bimishimo is written because it represents her and the feathers on either end.
